Belmont Students Hone Athletic Skills

The students at Belmont have had an active start to the school year by honing their athletic skills. They have had fun playing soccer and football and participating in modified games and activities. The 3rd, 4th and 5th graders were also busy building their strength and endurance as they completed their physical fitness tests. Of course there was also plenty of fun and enjoyment as a variety of Halloween and Thanksgiving games were played.
The winter months will focus on many indoor activities and games. Currently, the students are actively participating in floor hockey tournaments. Volleyball, basketball and gymnastic skills will also be developed during the winter months. The students will also get a chance to climb ropes and cargo nets and traverse across the school's rock wall.
Thanks to the help of the PTA, Belmont's annual Healthy Run was a successful event (in spite of the rainy weather). The students participated in morning exercises, jogged or walked around the building halls and then enjoyed bagels and fruit prepared by the PTA.
