DeLuca Students Learn about LI Pirates
Fourth graders in the class of Ms. Jeanne Saeli at William E. DeLuca had fun learning about pirates in a Long Island history unit. They discovered that Captain Kidd is reputed to have buried treasure off Gardiners Island. Ms. Saeli had her students follow individual “treasure maps” to find their own "pirate booty." Each student was given a patch and spoke like pirates for the entire day...AARRRRGGGGHHH!!!
