NBHS Marches in NYC St. Patrick's Day Parade

In anticipation of their participation in the NYC St. Patrick's Day Parade, the NBHS Marching Band Director Frank Rizzo said, "Forget about the white stuff on the ground. The only color the North Babylon High School Marching Band wants to see is GREEN!" And that is exactly what they saw everywhere they looked.
This year was the band's 16th invitation to the Parade down 5th Avenue in Manhattan. Crowds cheered as they marched along playing a medley of Irish melodies and having fun every step of the way. They played a spirited "Firestar," which is a rock piece that has become a NB tradition for all parades and functions. They also played "Holiday" by Madonna and "Bad Romance" by Lady Gaga as part of their show featuring female artists. They also played "An Irish Party in Third Class" from the movie, "Titanic," which has become the band's Irish tradition for the NYC parade, and all the students love playing it.
The parade is televised every year on national television to allow bands throughout the country to strut their stuff. Under the leadership of Drum Majors Jillian Manzo and Jared Ginsberg, the band marched the span of 31 blocks, proudly displaying the North Babylon banner.
The band is directed by Frank Rizzo and Jay Orig, and the Kickline Advisors are Laura Gmelch and Nicole Raymond.
