NBHS Students Participate in Physics Day at Adventureland
North Babylon Physics students participated in a special day at Adventureland which focused solely on the application of Physics to amusement park rides. Students made data collections at select rides and then completed their calculations back in the classroom. For instance, they timed roller coasters coming out of a loop and calculated the diameter of the swings and the time they took to make one revolution. Teacher Heidi Leibowitz had this to say about the educational outing, "It was a blast. I think the students were able to apply many physics concepts. We will refer to this experience many times throughout the school year."
