RMMS Explore Unexplained Phenomena

Robert Moses Middle School students in the classes of Ms. Rice, Ms. Cerrito, Ms. Latterman, and Ms. DePietto delved into the subject of the unexplained when they learned about the art of persuasive argument in a lesson taught by Library Media Specialist Sharon Sullivan. Using articles about strange phenomena and working in groups, students were asked to decide if they believe in a particular topic. Then they had to develop a persuasive argument to support their belief by using credible evidence from the article and any prior knowledge they had on the topic. Each group presented their argument to the class and had to try to convince the class that their belief was correct. Fun was had by all.
