RMMS Hosts The Healthy Kitchen
Robert Moses Middle School sixth graders learned about the benefits of eating healthy foods recently from an expert on the subject, Dr. Robert Dell’Amore of the Healthy Kitchen. They also learned about planning, preparing, safely storing, and cooking delicious salt-free meals. Students also discovered that foods that are good for the body can also be delicious. The program also focused on the importance of sharing quality family time around the dinner table, as well as sharing time in the kitchen preparing wholesome meals.
In addition, Dr. Dell'Amore also addressed the alarming rise in childhood obesity and Type II diabetes in today’s youth and encouraged students to keep their weight down and avoid diabetes by healthy food choices.
