Student Wins Writing Award

A North Babylon High School junior, Kimberly Kaletsky, was a Regional Winner of the Gold Key Award for the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards. Kim received this honor for her short story entitled "The Bus Stop" about an older man contemplating his life while waiting for a bus to arrive. Additionally, with the recommendation of her English teacher, Mrs. Kaiser, Kim has been accepted to study writing at the Teen Ink Summer Writing Program in New York City where she will be polishing her writing skills by working with famous authors and American and international teenagers.
