NBTO Holds Annual Toy/Book Drive
This year the North Babylon Teachers' Organization again held its holiday Toy/Book Drive and helped make the holidays brighter for 214 children from 89 families. The Retirees Chapter of the NBTO also helped by raising $427 that was spent on gift certificates at food stores to distribute to families in need.
Each individual school participated by selecting its own families and children to help. For instance, Belmont provided holiday gifts for over 60 children from 17 families. Marion G. Vedder had their most successful Toy Drive in recent history with all teachers, support staff, and paraprofessionals helping 40 children from 11 MGV families. The PTA donated lovely wreath centerpieces and holiday plants and staff from Central Office and the Business Office also got involved with the gift giving.
It was a blessing to be able to help so many children from so many families have a more joyous holiday. The NBTO thanks everyone who participated in this holiday drive.
