HS Business Law Class Holds Mock Trial
To expand their understanding of law, Mrs. DelVecchio and Mrs. Gartland’s Business Law I classes at the high school participated in Mock Trials before the Thanksgiving holiday.They enthusiastically took on the roles of attorney, judge, witness, bailiff, newspaper reporter, and jury. They not only learned the sequence of a trial, but increased their proficiency in listening, public speaking, reading, and critical thinking skills.The students were excited to be part of such a relevant and valuable learning experience.
The students in Business Law I can elect to take the class for 3 college credits through the University in the High School Program with SUNY Farmingdale. In addition to Business Law I, the North Babylon High School Business Department offers Business Law II, College Accounting, Computer Applications and Business Communications for college credit. Each course is worth 3 college credits and costs only $140. This is a substantial savings for parents.
