North Babylon Students Win at the Brookhaven Elementary Science Fair
North Babylon had two winners who took home Honorable Mention awards in the Brookhaven Elementary Science Fair on May 1. Dylan, a winning student at William E. DeLuca Elementary School, worked on a project called "Distractions While Driving". The other winner, Mujeeb from Woods Road Elementary School, did his project, "Block the Waves", to determine what materials will block the radio waves of a remote controlled car.
Both boys had stiff competition with over 118 schools in Suffolk County participating in the event and with only one first place winner and only 7-8 Honorable Mention awards per grade level. In each grade level, there were over 70 projects in competition. However, both boys impressed the judges and came away with awards.
