Parliament Place Students Learn to Protect Resources

Fifth Graders in Ms. Manning's class at Parliament Place found working in their Science Unit on Protecting Earth’s resources to be a valuable experience. They learned all about how rocks are classified as igneous, sedimentary, or metamorphic, according to how they are formed. They had a great learning experience in their "Rock Lab" working hands on with many different types of rocks and classifying them by their properties. The class also began learning all about renewable and nonrenewable resources and several different alternative types of energy. They are looking forward to working to find an alternative to our current energy issues. After a class vote, the students feel "Wind Energy" is a great way to produce electricity for our future.
