HS Drama Students Participate in Adelphi Arts Conference
On October 14, eleven of North Babylon's Theatre IV students participated in Adelphi University's Annual Student Arts Conference. Our highly motivated theatre students attended workshops in production, design, stagecraft, acting, stage combat, dance, and vocal characterizations with well over one hundred students from high schools across Long Island. After lunch they were treated to a Keynote Address by Daphne Rubin-Vega, singer, dancer, and Broadway actress ( the original Mimi in "Rent").
Students had the opportunity throughout the day to network with their high school peers as well as Adelphi college students, their professors, and two former NBHS theatre department graduates who are currently Adelphi theatre students. The entirely free conference provided by the Adelphi University Arts Department was a very enlightening, educational, and enjoyable experience for our outstanding theatre students. Mr. David Signorelli is the teacher.
