HS Girls Track Discus Star Vanessa Stewart Wins at State and National Level
Vanessa Stewart, the three time Suffolk County champion in the shot put, has had an outstanding senior year on the county, state and national levels. She won the Suffolk Division II shot put 47-6 and discus 125-6 and she was All Long Island in the shot put. She was also the Federation Champ with a shot put of 47 feet and she won the New York State Championship NYSPHSAA Division I shot put with a toss of 45 feet and three and three fourth inches. She went on to play in the New Balance Outdoor Nationals in Greensboro, North Carolina, on June 18 and placed 3rd in the shot put. What a competitor this young woman is!
