HS Holds Blood Drive

The NBHS Student Government held a Blood Drive on November 19 in the West Gym for students and staff at the high school. Students spent a month planning the event. The Art Club made over 25 posters to hang in the building. Student Government members gave up lunch periods to be available in the lobby to answer questions and sign students up. Brittany Robert, the Student Government President, oversaw the whole Blood Drive. It was a successful event with 80 pints collected. Mrs. Karen Kennely said, "We had 103 people come to donate blood but only 80 were acceptable. Many students don’t eat enough protein and their hemoglobin levels were too low to donate."
