NBHS Presents "Beauty and the Beast"

The North Babylon High School Drama Club presented three magical performances of Disney's "Beauty and the Beast" on the evening of Feb. 5th and 6th. At one point, led by Lumiere, Cogsworth, Mrs. Potts, Chip, Babette, and the Wardrobe, a cast of more than 50 spoons, forks, knives and napkins danced around the stage and through the aisles singing "Be Our Guest" and "Human Again" as an applauding audience leaped to their feet with delight.

Amazing performances were turned in by Tricia Davila as Belle, Donovan Carroll as the Beast, Mark Maurice as Gaston, Christian Delosso as Lefou, Kevin Crowley as Lumiere, Brandon Catapane as Cogsworth, Shanelle Riccio as Mrs. Potts, Lauren DiNapoli as Chip, Gianna Gelosi as Babette, Chelsea Temple as the Wardrobe, Luis Medina as Maurice, and Joe Piazza as D'Arque.

Helping to make the show such a success was the support from the skilled technical and stage crews of more than 50 students working behind the scenes, as well as numerous dedicated parent and student volunteers.

The orchestra of more than 30 talented musicians was led by Mr. Jay Orig, the delightful costumes and makeup were by Ms. Mary Susan Noll, choreography was by Ms. Nicole Raymond, sets were by Ms. Veronica Murphy, and vocal direction was by Mr. Steven Cottonaro.

Mr. David Signorelli, who did the lighting and stage directing, has once again produced a show to bring the house down. To quote him, it also delivered a much needed message about "being comfortable in your own skin and not judging others on what they appear to be but by who they are inside."
