NB Varsity Football Team Wins Eight in a Row

North Babylon’s Varsity Football Team handed itself a real treat on Halloween by winning its eighth game in a row in defeating Bay Shore 35-14. Ryan Crawley and Preshod McCoy were double trouble for Bay Shore. Crawley scored three touchdowns and McCoy scored two to hand the Bulldogs an 8-0 record in Division II. For North Babylon fans, this season marks the team’s exciting return to powerhouse football. Next Saturday the team will again face Bay Shore in the playoffs.
Last week the Bulldogs played a “smash mouth” football game against East Islip, another undefeated Division II team at game time, and racked up a 30-7 victory against a team that before the game had allowed only 32 points in six games. With their quarterback out with an injury, East Islip was no match for the Bulldogs.
The NB players powered their way down the rain soaked field against a team that also plays tough and rough. Though the first quarter was scoreless, Preshod McCoy scored two touchdowns in the second quarter with Adam Amin kicking the extra points to take a 14-7 lead at half-time.  In the third quarter McCoy quickly scored again for a 21-7 lead.
Supported by a tough offensive line, McCoy scored 4 touchdowns and ran for 144 yards. Interceptions by Dontae Caldwell, Matt Sonnenberg, and Preshod McCoy were also key in setting up scores for North Babylon.
The head coach is Terry Manning.
