NB Varsity Football Team Wins Seven in a Row
North Babylon's Varsity Football Team played another "smash mouth" football game against East Islip, another undefeated Division II team at game time, and racked up a 30-7 victory against a team that before the game had allowed only 32 points in six games. With their quarterback out with an injury, East Islip was no match for the Bulldogs who have now won seven in a row.
The Bulldogs powered their way down the rain soaked field against a team that also plays tough and rough. Though the first quarter was scoreless, Preshod McCoy scored two touchdowns in the second quarter with Adam Amin kicking the extra points to take a 14-7 lead at half-time. In the third quarter McCoy quickly scored again for a 21-7 lead.
Supported by a tough offensive line, McCoy scored 4 touchdowns and ran for 144 yards. Interceptions by Dontae Caldwell, Matt Sonnenberg, and Preshod McCoy were also key in setting up scores for North Babylon.
