RMMS Summer Reading Program a Success

School may have been out for summer vacation, but reading wasn’t for Robert Moses Middle School. This past summer 53 wonderful and hardworking students continued their excellent reading habits by participating in the North Babylon Public Library’s Teen Summer Program and by reading between 2 and 43 books before school started in September.
A partnership was forged with Ms. Jennifer Olsen, the Library Media Specialist at Robert Moses Middle School, and Ms. Sue Sloan, the public library’s Young Adult Librarian. Students participated in a number of literature related activities at both school and the public library. The final collaborative effort was the Summer Reading Awards Breakfast where students were honored with a certificate of recognition and a book of their choice donated by Dr. Maureen Fallon, Director of Social Studies and English Language Arts.
