Students for a Better World Fundraises to Help Others
On Sunday October 16th, Students for a Better World (SFBW) participated in the in the fundraising Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk at Jones Beach. Thirty-four students walked three miles for the fight against Breast Cancer. So far this month Students for a Better World has raised $975.00 towards the “Team Scottaline” donation to the American Cancer Society. SFBW sold pink shoe laces and "Team Scottaline" t-shirts at various events this month. Next month SFBW is continuing efforts to raise money for Habitat for Humanity by selling paper bricks. With over 100 members of the club, the advisor, Veronica Murphy, is hoping to raise over $2000.00 for this year’s Habitat for Humanity Student Build. She also says, “We are hoping for our largest turnout ever at our Holiday Breakfast on December 17th this year, where we will be collecting for the Toys for Tots Foundation.”
