Students from the North Babylon School District will exhibit shoe-related
artwork at the Long Island Children's Museum as part of their new exhibit
entitled "Global Shoes." The exhibit will be on display from
October 3, 2008, until
January 4, 2009.
North Babylon students involved in the display are: Amanda Armour, Courtney
Flood, John Fox, Mary Gunther, Javaid Jamishad, Sara McLeod, Melanie Robinson,
Amy Lyn Silvera, Taylor Wood, Maurice Young and Amanda Zelen. The teachers
involved are Mrs. Joyce Orrigo and Miss Veronica Murphy.
Featuring shoes from more that 40 countries, Global Shoes sparks children’s
curiosity through authentic artifacts, hands-on materials, and interactive audio
and video components. This is truly an exhibit guaranteed “to knock your socks
off.”
