Boys Cross Country Team Wins First League Championship Since 1994
    The Varsity Boys Cross Country Team, coached by Tom Duffy, were undefeated at 5-0 and finished as League Champs for the first time since 1994. They also were  named Babylon Bowl Champions three years in a row.
    The top seven varsity runners were senior Chris Prosa, juniors James Ward, Peter Ruess, Jacob Sherretts, George Erazo, and Mike Madrigal, and eighth grader Brock Schmid. Ward, Ruess, and Sherretts were team leaders and captains who pushed the team during workouts and led by example.
    Team members accrued a number of honors. James Ward was named All-League and 3rd Team All-County. He was also selected as the team’s Most Valuable Player. Peter Ruess was named All-League and Jacob Sherretts and Brock Schmid were named 2nd Team All-League. Sherretts also won the Coaches Award, Brian Belmont was named Most Improved Player, Kevin Faustin won the Spirit Award and Kenny White won the Bulldog Award.
    Proud of his team, Coach Duffy said, "The boys worked extremely hard this past off-season and their dedication to the team concept led the way to our first League Championship in 14 years."
